Gourmet Eats is a local food hall that brings together a curated selection of exciting restaurants and celebrated chefs, all under one roof. A gourmet meal is best shared with others and can often lead to great conversation. We wondered what Gourmet Eats would sound like and developed new typefaces for it to speak. We imagined its personality would be eclectic, often repeating little bits of conversations that were interesting, likable and shareable. The photographic style is purposefully messy in contrast to the name because that’s when you know the food is really good. More than just a food court, Gourmet Eats is a food destination.

Our idea is to rewrite the script lettering to give it a fresher look by adding thickness of the stroke and adjusting some curves. Also, setting up a new design system to cover all media’s use.

We came up with a set of custom font for both Latin and Thai. The custom font have the reversed-stroke characteristic which inspired from our lips; thicker on the horizontal.

To refresh the brand, the script had to go.

Client wants to get rid of the old look and totally refreshing the brand, so they decided not to go with the script lettering anymore.
