Tanino, meaning tannin in Spanish, is a Chilean liquor import company founded to bring Korea the finest wines and diverse spirits discovered by a long-time resident with over 40 years of experience in Chile. We built Tanino’s visual identity system by defining the company’s strengths and core values and expressing them through form, color, and texture.

About B

The B-cut for Tanino is inspired by the excitement of opening a new bottle of wine, capturing the diagonal rhythm of twisting a corkscrew. The vertical flow and the contrast in stroke weight of the typeface reflect both Chile’s sweeping landscape and the vibrant energy that surrounds wine. Featuring textures unique to the local terroir, the design expresses the distinct character of Tanino’s selections and the anticipation of new experiences.

About A

The swirling movement of wine in a glass, and the excitement it evokes, are captured in an elegant serif typeface to express the shifting tastes, aromas, and moods of each moment. Rich textures and deep colors convey TANINO’s values—bringing to Korea unique Chilean wines that carry the flavors of its terroirs and the wonders of its nature.

Sometimes, design is love at first sight.

Choosing a design is not always a rational decision—sometimes an indefinable charm speaks to the heart first. The A-cut was chosen by that instinctive reaction of feeling “this is good,” as naturally as sensing an instant connection at first encounter.
